Derby Open Doors Event – Welding & FLT Centre
Today, we hosted a fantastic Open Doors Event at our Derby Welding and FLT Training Centre, bringing together local partners and employers to strengthen connections and share ideas on how we can collectively support people into sustainable employment.
Attendees included:
- Reed in Partnership – representing the Restart programme
- Derby City Council – Skills and Employment teams
- Hunters 4 Staff – local recruitment agency
- Forvia – local manufacturing firm
- Futures – representing the National Careers Service
- Weldfast – national welding consumables company
The event opened with an introduction from Tom, our Sales Director, who spoke about the provision available across Derby and the wider area, highlighting our shared mission to create better futures for local people and the community.
Guests were then given a guided tour of the site, meeting Sergi, our Lead Welding Tutor for Derby, and Todd, our FLT Instructor, who showcased the hands-on training facilities and the high standards of delivery our learners experience.
It was a superb opportunity to network, share best practice, and hold roundtable discussions on how we can collaborate to engage local residents, raise aspirations, and connect more people with real employment opportunities.
Momentum would like to thank everyone who attended and contributed to such a positive and productive session — we look forward to building on these partnerships and continuing to make a difference in Derby.
